Google Inc. and Yahoo Inc. each announced impressive wins at Mobile World Congress 2008 last week.
Nokia Corp. announced that it will include Google’s technology with it’s own mobile search application in select markets (on the Nokia N96, N78,6220 and 6210 Navigator). Nokia plans to make Google search available to customers in more than 100 countries and 40 languages.
Yahoo’s win, on the other hand, is the one that raised eyebrows at the Mobile World Congress 2008. T-Mobile International announced plans to make Yahoo it’s exclusive mobile service in Europe at the end of March as part of its web’n'walk service giving Yahoo access to nearly 90 million wireless subscribers in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Austria and eight other European markets. This ends a 3 year relationship between T-Mobile and Google.
