The sexy Motorola Krave ZN4 for Verizon looks like a Star Trek communicator, makes a great little portable TV, and incorporates some genuinely innovative touch-screen technology. But its lack of interesting applications leaves some wanting a lot more. The problem with the Kraveis that the bar for touch-screen phones has been raised considerably recently. With the iPhone, the LG Dare (its main competitor), the Samsung Instinct, the T-Mobile G1, and the BlackBerry Storm out there, just having a touch screen isn’t enough anymore. A handset needs to offer fresh software, too. And the Krave’s software feels old—functional but stale. $149 with contract on Verizon.

Sagem unveiled the DVB-SH-compatible myMobileTV at the Mobile World Congress 2008. This phone not only offers great tv playback with next generation DVB-H and DVB-SH broadcasting, it also allows acces to a top notch range of multimedia offerings.
Sagem’s myMobileTV offers a full range of music and video functionality as well. It features a 2 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom, a great video capture and a built-in mp3 player. The phones 25 MB of internal memory can be extended via microSD card. To keep up with the Jones’, Sagem’s TV phone comes with MMS for sharing, WAP 2.0TM for staying informed, Java technology for 3D gaming, tri-band, Bluetooth (with A2DP stereo music profile), and SyncML for connectivity. To top it all off, this phone has up to 3 hours of battery life in TV mode and 5 hours in talk-time.
