Samsung is bringing the Anycall L258 model phone to Hong Kong and probably the rest of China. The Samsung L258 with its metallic-silver and black exterior gives a sense of sophistication and glamour which is important in the competitive mid-range market today.

The Anycall L258 is a tri-band GSM/GPRS phone with a 2.3″ QVGA touchscreen, 2 megapixel camera, FM radio, stereo bluetooth and a microSD memory slot. Pre-installed software includes, but not limited to, music player, web browser (Openwave), and handwriting recognition. The L258 measures 113×50x14.5 mm and weighs 97 grams. Once it hits the market you’ll be able to get the Samsung Anycall L258 for $2,180 HK (around $280 US).

Sagem unveiled the DVB-SH-compatible myMobileTV at the Mobile World Congress 2008. This phone not only offers great tv playback with next generation DVB-H and DVB-SH broadcasting, it also allows acces to a top notch range of multimedia offerings.

Sagem’s myMobileTV offers a full range of music and video functionality as well. It features a 2 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom, a great video capture and a built-in mp3 player. The Motorola RIZR Z6c World Edition released on Verizon Wireless is the close cousin of the Z6tv. The World Edition trades in mobile tv and a standard audio jack for overseas GSM roaming. The CDMA/GSM slider phones also features a memory card slot, stereo bluetooth, a physical key lock switch, QVGA display, a 2 megapixel camera and EVDO data. Around $229 with contract.

The Palm Centro for Sprint is more of a consumer- oriented smartphone that packs all the features of a Treo into a smaller, lighter package.

From what I hear, this phone was not meant to be the Treo or to even replace it. This is for those who want either an entry level smart phone, or for those who want a nice smaller phone that works great. Phone runs $399 without a contract and $99 with a contract agreement. Amazon has it for $79 with a contract agreement purchased through them (after a $50 rebate). Comes in onyx and red.
