Armani Phone
The Italian designer Giorgio Armani has allied with Samsung Electronics to bring to you “fashion” consumer electronics products such as mobile phones and TV’s, Founded on the combination of Giorgio Armani’s iconic design aesthetic and Samsung’s cutting-edge technologies.
The first product from the Alliance is a luxury phone, the Samsung SGH-P520. The 10.5-millimeter thick touchscreen phone is equipped with a 3-megapixel camera, AAC/MP3/WMA audio and MPEG-4 video player. The phone features tri-band 900/1800/1900 GSM, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP support, microSD expansion, full Internet browser, and support for H.263.
The phone also comes with an addition feature, it has a built in Rape Alarm. By pressing the volume control button 4 times in a row rapidly, the phone sends a SOS text message to five pre-programmed phone numbers. The phone has built in GPS, so the user can be easily located. It can be viewed as an ‘alert message’ and not just rape.
It will be available in selected mobile phone stores and Giorgio Armani boutiques in major European countries from November 2007, with expansion to other markets planned for 2008. It’s said that it will run about 650 Euros.
