Sierra Wireless USBConnect Phone From AT&T

AT&T and Sierra Wireless announced a month ago the release of the AT&T USBConnect 881, a new wireless USB data device that is the first to have AT&T Communication Manager software pre-loaded. The AT&T USBConnect 881 automatically installs AT&T Communication Manager when first used with Microsoft Windows Vista, XP and 2000 notebooks1. This eliminates the need for an installation CD to provide a plug-and-play experience for most users.
The 881 enables laptop owners to quickly and easily send and receive e-mail and access the Internet on AT&T’s 3G High Speed Data Packet Access (HSDPA) BroadbandConnect wireless network. This network has upload speeds between 500 Kbps and 800 Kbps and enhanced download speeds ranging between 600 Kbps and 1,400 Kbps.
The 881 is a bit bulky and a little bit too big for my liking but presents a great idea that I’m sure with demand will improve the style and function of the phone. The AT&T USBConnect 881 is already available for purchase across AT&T sales channels. The USBConnect 881 is available for $49.99 with a new two-year DataConnect contract of $59.99 a month or higher.
